A Photo exhibition of the world's greatest modern artists at work

Guangzhou, China (September 25, 2015) – Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich is launching the compelling photo exhibition “Revealed” to Guangzhou after Beijing and Shanghai on November 13 to December 3 - taking an intimate look at the world’s greatest modern artists at work as they reveal themselves to the photographer. Olivier Widmaier Picasso, grandson of Pablo Picasso and author of Picasso, Portrait Intime (Albin Michel/Arte éditions), has curated the exhibition, hand-selecting 30 photographs from the archives of Paris Match, the famous French weekly magazine.

This worldwide exhibition has held at Sofitel hotels in Beijing, and Shanghai, and will be showcased at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich in November. The China exhibitions are part of a world tour that has already been to five cities in North America and five in Europe. Aside from China, “Revealed” will also take place this year in Bangkok, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne.

“We are delighted to have been able to draw on the talent of Olivier Widmaier Picasso”, says Michel Molliet, Senior Vice President, Operations, Luxury and Upscale, AccorHotels Greater China. “We are also proud to uphold Sofitel’s pillar of culture, which together with gastronomy, design and well-being combines into the French art de vivre that flows through our 120 Sofitel addresses on five continents.”

Among the prized photographs to be displayed is a black-and-white image of Pablo Picasso eyeing a Dalmatian longing to climb upon his lap; Salvador Dalí seen sitting in an animal exhibit at the Paris Zoo; Jeff Koons styling a BMW for the 24 Hours of Le Mans; Pierre Soulages crouching over a work in progress; Kees Van Dongen painting a posing Brigitte Bardot; and other striking images depicting Rene Magritte, Marc Chagall, Fernando Botero, Joan Miro, Jean Cocteau, Francis Bacon, and more.

A Month of “Revealed” Culinary Arts at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich
To celebrate the “Revealed” photography exhibition, the Sofitel Greater China culinary team, led by Eric Costille, Regional Executive Chef Accor Greater China, has put together two art-inspired menus that are available for the whole month of November at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. The Un Mois en Provence dinner menu at Le Grill and Le Gouter en Provence Afternoon Tea at Mar-Tea-Ni Lounge both take inspiration from art in their color and presentation, as does the “Revealed” Cocktail available at Mar-Tea-Ni Lounge.

French Chef Jean-Franscois Nulli from Privé at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 has curated the Un Mois en Provence Menu (RMB 988+/couple includes 2 arrival glasses and 2 Post dinner night cap beverages at Mar-Tea-Ni) – a visual explosion of artistic gastronomy that will awaken every sense at Le Grill. The four-course menu begins with a bright Crab Beetroot Timbale and moves on to Sea Bass Unilateral with Zucchini Concasse Basil and Olives, followed by Beef Two Ways - Stewed Oxtail Pumpkin Parmentier and Pan-Fried Tenderloin. To finish, guests will experience the visually stunning Pavlova Tangerine with mandarin orange sorbet.

Curated by Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 Pastry Chef Laem Liu, the Le Gouter en Provence Afternoon Tea Set offers an escape from the city (RMB 228+ for two) with colorful and bright sweet and savory dishes including: Strawberry Gourmet Cones, Provencal Honey Nougat, Lavender macaroons, Anise Financiers, Roussillon Apricot Shooters and more. Upgrade version (RMB 328+) with two glasses of Domain Chandon NV is also available.

The special ‘Revealed’ Cocktail (RMB 88+) is available throughout the month of November at Mar-Tea-Ni Lounge in Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. Inspired by an artist’s palate, the cocktail has deep layers and color that has nutty caramel and chocolate textures with a playful image.
