Various kinds of quality goods from both at home and abroad will be presented at the 2016 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo in Dongguan from October 27 to 30, 2016. This was learned from the press conference of the Expo held at Guangdong Hotel in Guangzhou on October 18.
Famous overseas exhibits include diamond and gold from South Africa, wine and olive from Italy, natural bird’s nest and white coffee from Malaysia, dairy products and chocolate from New Zealand, durian and coconut from Thailand, rum and honey from Mauritius, agate and carpet from Pakistan, sapphire and long-grain fragrant rice from Cambodia, sea food from Brunei, and more.
In the mean time, three professional exhibition areas will be set up to show the major traditional products of Maritime Silk Road. Exhibition of Selected International Tea Culture presents tea leaves, tea sets and tea culture products. Exhibition of Selected International Ceramics Culture shows tableware, art ceramics and other ceramics culture products. Exhibition of Selected International Silk Culture offers silk apparels and accessories, silk artware, etc.
What’s more, there will be typical tourism products, cultural products, folk customs, tourist routes, intangible cultural heritage projects of Guangdong and countries (regions) along the Maritime Silk Road, aiming to enhance non-governmental exchange, increase air routes and promote interconnection between Guangdong and countries (regions) along the Maritime Silk Road.
For purchasers of industry and manufacturing, do not miss the following two exhibitions at the Expo. The Exhibition of International Building Decoration Materials and Engineering Machinery mainly focuses on creating procurement opportunities of building decoration materials and engineering machinery, including quality timber and wood products from Southeast Asia, so as to satisfy the development demands of the infrastructure and construction industry of countries (regions) along the Maritime Silk Road.
The Exhibition Area of Business Opportunities mainly exhibits the business opportunities of investment and economic and trade cooperation among countries (regions) along the Maritime Silk Road, with the emphasis on ports, wharves, high-speed rails, highways, electric power, telecommunications and other infrastructure construction projects as well as industrial parks investment and cooperation.
Apart from the aforementioned exhibits and exhibitions, there will be rich and pragmatic activities during the Expo. One of the key events is the “Production Capacity Cooperation and Innovative Development High-End Forum” which will be held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on October 28. Addresses on capacity cooperation and innovative development brought by the Belt and Road Initiative will be presented by current and former important members of the governments of countries (regions) along the Maritime Silk Road as well as leaders from AIIB.
