Chef Antonio Coelho opened his restaurant’s doors to the Macau public in 2008 with the sole aim of presenting both the traditional and modernised flavours of Portuguese food and its culture to Macau.
The menu is fabulously showcased which includes Antonio’s signature dishes such gratinated goat cheese with acacia honey, Antonio style “Wet Seafood Rice”, Assorted Seafood stew in cataplana or copper pot, Portuguese duck rice, African Chicken and a lot more of which mainly 80 % of product use are all imports from Portugal. This delicious cuisine is harmonised by the restaurant’s warm decor and amiable atmosphere.
As well as serving a whole range of authentic and spectacular dishes, the Portuguese restaurant is daubed in culinary awards. Restaurant Antonio won the Golden Crown Award in Singapore after being nominated for the Luxury Restaurant of China. Antonio was also awarded the Century International Gold Quality Era Award in Switzerland for “commitment to quality and
excellence”, and the Portuguese restaurant was given recognition of its quality and excellence
in Spain after being awarded the Hotel and Restaurant Quality Award. All awards being received
recently in mid-2015 to 2016.
The restaurant’s success has been driven by Chef Antonio who himself has consequently been on the recipient end of a few individual awards. Mr Coelho received the Quality Best Trade Name award, which was given in Rome (2015). The Government of Macau also awarded Mr. Coelho with the medal of Merit of Tourism and parallel to this, he was awarded the Merit of Portuguese Communities by the Republic Government in Portugal.
Additionally, Antonio is one of few restaurants that is officially recommended by Michelin in the Hong Kong & Macau Guide and has been from 2009 to the present. All these factors make Antonio, arguably, the perfect spot for business luncheons, private dining and functions.
