The Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou and the Mexico Tourism Board office in China hosted a "Mexico Tourism Seminar & Dinner" in Guangzhou on November 25, attended by the consular community and representatives from the travel, hospitality and media industries.

The year of 2015 has been declared the Year of Mexican Tourism in China following an agreement reached by Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto and Xi Jinping in November 2014. Ample activities have been held in south China to showcase the very best of Mexico: beaches, cities, nature, food, music, traditions and, above all, its warm and considerate people.

Chinese tourism is growing in Mexico. Through September almost 65,000 Chinese had visited Mexico in 2015, 26% more than in the same period the previous year. The total number of visitors is expected to reach more than 100,000 by year’s end.

With the support of Aeromexico, Amstar and Foremex Consultants, the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou successfully held a lucky drawing as a promotional event. Two young ladies from Fujian province, won a trip from southern China to Mexico. They visited several well-known tourist destinations in Mexico like Mexico City, Merida and Cancun between November 10 and 15.
