MGM and Wushu General Association of Macauareco-hostingthe sixth annualsignature event – “MGM Lion Dance Championship – Macau International Invitational”at MGM MACAU’s Grande Praça on November 12 and 13this year, with thesupport of Macau Sports Bureau, Macao Government Tourism Office and Dragon & Lion Dance Federation of Asia. Locals and tourists alike can experience the excitement of this Chinese cultural sport, showcasing heritage fit for all ages.
This year’s “Male Lion Dance Championship” features15teamsfrom 10countries and regions:China,Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR,Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia,the Philippines,Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.The troupes include2015 second runner-up: Malaysia’sPersatuanTarianSinga Dan Naga Kun Seng Keng, and two renowned local lion dance troupes: AssociaçãoDesportiva e Recreativa Hong Wai de Macau and AssociaçãoDesportivae do LeãoAcordado Lo Leong that will surely be a highlight in this competition. Competitors will fiercely battle it out for the champion title with their awe-inspiring moves and acrobatic stunts atGrande Praça.
The two-day Championshipwill also be running Macau’s first “Female Traditional Lion Dance Championship” withinternational standardrating system,which isupgraded from the pioneering “Female Lion Dance Performance Competition” that took place since 2011. This year's Championship features eight female lion dance troupes, coming from China,Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR,Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia,the Philippines andSingapore, including 2015 gold award winner:Hong Kong Chinese Martial Arts Dragon and Lion Dance Association Hung Kuen Lee Yun Fook Lion Dance, and silver award winners: AssociaçãoDesportiva e Recreativa Hong Wai de Macau, Indonesian Dragon& Lion Dance Federation and Wushu Federation Philippines.The troupes of female performers will be demonstrating a vast array of awe-inspiring lion dance moves in all their different vigorous forms, and will definitely be one of the highlights of the competition.
The Southern Lion Dance is a sport-oriented activity, being performed by a team of two dancers and requiring a different set of skills and strength so as to perform the moves and achieve various postures that serve to imitate and simulate the different moods and physical movements of a dancing lion that is made to look life-like.The “Female Traditional Lion Dance Championship”concentrates on demonstrating the movements and postures of the traditional Southern lion dance, which follows protocol and etiquette, altogether the music rhythms and the intensity with which the instruments are played. The traditional custom of “Cai Qing” (literally meaning “Plucking the greens”) will also be a focus of this competition. Apart from its aesthetic value, the performance also serves the important function of preserving such significant Chinese traditions. The “Male Lion Dance Championship” is based on the traditional Southern lion dance, combining spectacular stunts, ambitiously choreographed moves and strong rhythmic music, to deliver an exhilarating experience to the audience.
The judging panel is made up of professional judges fromWushu General Association of Macau and one professional judge from each of the participating teams. Following international rules and regulations created by International Dragon and Lion Dance Federation in 2011, all participating teams will be required to finish different themes and sets of movement,within 7 to 10 minutes, demonstrating the typical vivid postures and expressions of a lion. The judging criteria will be based on the overall performance, including specific technical requirements, artistic value, and the difficulty of the footwork and movements. Each team’s final score will be the average of the scores that they achieve in the two-day event.

由澳门美高梅与澳门武术总会合办、澳门特别行政区政府体育局、旅游局及亚洲龙狮运动联合会鼎力支持的年度国际醒狮大赛-第六届「美高梅狮王争霸-澳门国际邀请赛」将于11月12及13日,一连两天假美高梅天幕广场举行,将为澳门市民及游客上演连场群狮争霸盛况!
本届赛事阵容鼎盛,云集来自中国、中国香港、中国澳门、中华台北、印度尼西亚、马来西亚、菲律宾、新加坡、泰国及越南等地共15支世界级雄狮劲旅,当中包括上届季军:马来西亚柔佛麻坡关圣宫龙狮团,以及本澳著名狮队:澳门鸿威文娱体育会及罗梁体育总会。一众舞狮劲旅将于连续两天的赛事中一决高下,争夺狮王宝座。
于2011年首度登场且获高度好评的「女子舞狮表演赛」再创新猷,本年将升格为正规的「女子传统南狮赛」评分制赛事,共有8支来自中国、中国香港、中国澳门、中华台北、印度尼西亚、马来西亚、菲律宾及新加坡的女子狮队飒爽登场,包括上届表演赛金奬得主:香港中国国术龙狮总会洪拳李润福狮队,而三队上届银奬狮队:澳门鸿威文娱体育会、印度尼西亚全国龙狮总会及菲律宾武术协会亦将再次出战,届时将施展浑身解数,争夺女狮王殊荣。
南狮运动是一项综合性人体运动,狮头、狮尾二人运用人体多种姿态相互配合,在或动或静中将力度、神态等揉合于南狮技巧中,栩栩如生地表现出狮子的各种形态及习性。「女子传统南狮赛」着重采青和故事性,在鼓乐伴奏下,按照传统舞法的基本规律、逻辑等,配合简易器材,生动地展示狮子的精气神韵,使整个套路既有观赏价值亦能继承传统特色。而「男子桩阵自选套路」则在传统南狮赛的基础上,结合高桩及传统青阵,并加入创新及难度动作,展示结构新颖、风格别致的舞狮表演。
赛事由澳门武术总会之国际级专业评判团及参赛队伍各派出的一位国际级评判负责评审工作,评分标准按照2011年版国际龙狮运动联合会之国际舞龙南狮北狮竞赛规则、裁判法评分。參赛狮队须于7至10分钟内完成套路,表现出狮子的各种形态,裁判团将以狮队动作规格、艺术表现、难度动作等整体评分,总成绩为两天比赛之平均分数,并得出冠、亚、季军奖项。
